Robert College

 

Uniforms can empower children to grow into socially and environmentally responsible adults. Uniforms can, indeed, contribute to education for sustainable development and global citizenship action plan as led by the UN. By enabling students understand the process behind how their clothes are made and how their buying decisions can benefit the lives of other people. By introducing the concepts of environmentally friendly materials, fair-trade production via QR codes that are sewed inside their clothes, explaining the value of what they wear. We design and produce uniforms for students in Robert College. Robert College is an independent private high school in Istanbul, Turkey. Established in 1863, the school has a population of more than 1.000 students from age 14 to 19. Robert College also has a rooted alumni platform RC Alumni Association, with a store located in the RCAA premises.

Methodolgy

 

Each year, we create a participatory design process where we ask students about their preferences and previous discomforts. Always taking into account the school administrations’ and students’ needs, we create a uniforms collection of polos, t-shirts and hoodies for the students and alumni of Robert College.
